Wildfire is a scalable, mission-focused, attrition-tolerant uncrewed aircraft. Part of the same class of medium-altitude, long-endurance aircraft as the earlier-model MQ-9A Reaper®, Wildfire can carry a greater payload, has a longer range, and costs less. It builds on the best qualities of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems’ combat-proven aircraft and takes full advantage of the company’s nearly 10 million global flight hours while also incorporating novel refinements in response to evolving battlefield needs.

Wildfire’s use of the latest advances in mission autonomy follows in the footsteps of the FQ-42A Collaborative Combat Aircraft now in production for the U.S. Air Force. Human operators will control Wildfire using U.S. government-provided autonomy software, not a conventional ground control station. This shift will reduce labor for crews, enable individuals to operate multiple aircraft, and ensure Wildfire’s ability to be as highly responsive in combat as it is resilient to adversary disruption.

Featuring multi-spectral targeting sensors and other onboard systems, Wildfire will provide class-leading intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, as well as other capabilities. The aircraft was designed from its wheels up to accommodate a range of potent effectors, including long-range precision strike weapons.

General Atomics conceived Wildfire as a low-cost and attrition-tolerant aircraft, making targeted decisions about both what it will and will not have. Wildfire is in its own class, strategically built to handle a specific range of applications, where its ability to be fielded in quantity for the world's most challenging combat operations will transform aerial warfare.
