SkyGuardian Mission Trainer

The SkyGuardian® Mission Trainer (SMT) is the world's first flight simulator designed to accurately reproduce MQ-9B SkyGuardian® and SeaGuardian® flight operations. Developed jointly with CAE, the flight hardware is used in conjunction with cutting-edge software to provide highly advanced, realistic Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission training for GA-ASI customers. SMT also greatly reduces the reliance on costly live-flight training hours.
The SkyGuardian Mission Trainer increases GA-ASI's training capacity by adding a new organic simulator to its catalog of offerings while lowering training costs for both internal and external customers. SMT contains CAE's high-fidelity sensor simulation, a fully interactive tactical environment, and an Open Geospatial Consortium Common Database architecture for interoperable and networked training capabilities. These state-of-the-art features enable GA-ASI to update its curricula and training with this robust simulation capability and lessen potential airspace and weather impacts.
SMT is a highly cost-effective solution that requires zero flight time training. Its use allows pilots and sensor operators to be trained with high-fidelity simulation of the flight model and sensor systems so that they can confidently transition to flight operations without any live aircraft flying. Trainees benefit from immediate feedback and performance analysis, dramatically enhancing their learning experience.
The trainer replicates real-world scenarios with exceptional accuracy, ensuring trainees gain valuable experience in handling various mission parameters. Additionally, SMT is equipped with advanced software that can be updated to include the latest technological advancements and mission data. Continuous update ability ensures delivery of relevant and cutting-edge training.
