Previous and Upcoming Maritime Demos
2021 European Maritime Demos
GA-ASI is sending its MQ-9B Unmanned Aircraft System to the United Kingdom in 2021 to undertake a series of operational capability demonstrations for NATO allies, including the Netherlands. The UK's Protector program is a derivative of the MQ-9B SkyGuardian with a range of UK modifications and the Royal Air Force (RAF) is supporting this visit. The GA-ASI aircraft will be in an MQ-9B SeaGuardian configuration, which includes a multi-mode maritime surface-search radar with Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar imaging mode, an Automatic Identification System receiver, and a High-Definition, Full-Motion Video sensor equipped with optical and infrared cameras.Learn More
Exercise Joint Warrior (JW212) 2021
The biannual Exercise Joint Warrior is the largest military exercise in Europe, bringing together the Royal Navy, the Royal Air Force and the British Army, as well as forces from other nations.
Naval Forces Europe (NAVEUR) has asked GA-ASI to demonstrate the maturity and versatility of the MQ-9B's full maritime capability (surface surveillance and ASW) to all participating nations. The demonstration will highlight Manned-Unmanned-Teaming (MUM-T) with U.S. Navy and NATO Marine Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) to prosecute maritime ASW and ISR. Additionally, this will be the first major exercise incorporating a certifiable UAS capable of full integration into the international airspace utilizing GA's proprietary Detect and Avoid System (DAAS) for enhanced versatility.
RIMPAC Exercise 2022
The world's largest international maritime warfare exercise. RIMPAC is held biennially during June and July of even-numbered years from Honolulu, Hawaii. With RIMPAC the United States Indo-Pacific Command seeks to enhance interoperability among Pacific Rim armed forces, as a means of promoting stability in the region to the benefit of all participating nations.
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) have sponsored GA-ASI to provide MQ-9B aircraft for experimentation events to demonstrate Maritime Support Capabilities. Objectives include long-range maritime surveillance and targeting, integrated assured communications and USMC-USN integrated operations.
